How to Take a Spiritual Bath When You're Ready to Let That Shit Go

Let’s be real, not every healing moment looks like crystals, soft music, and softly whispered affirmations. Sometimes, healing is messy. Sometimes it’s a full-body ugly cry. Sometimes it’s screaming into water, shaking, praying so hard your knees hurt.

And that’s exactly what a spiritual bath is for. This isn’t your self-care bubble bath with rose petals and fairy lights. This is a sacred-ass release ritual to clear your energy,  regulate your nervous system, and let it all the way out. This is where you pray, purge, cry, scream, shake, and let the pain leave your body through salt, steam, and surrender.

Why Take a Spiritual Bath Like This?

Because we carry so much grief, shame, heartbreak, rage, abandonment, betrayal, exhaustion, pressure, and pain. Half the time, we don’t even permit ourselves to feel it, let alone release it.

  • This is a space where you don’t have to keep it together.
This is where you drop the “good girl,” the strong woman, the people-pleasing.
This is where your emotions get to come the fuck out, loud, messy, holy.

Set The Space?

You deserve a space that feels safe as hell. Not pretty. Safe. Big difference.

Here’s how:

  • Clean your space first: Not for aesthetics, but because clutter holds energy. You’re about to move some serious shit.
  • Dim the lights or light a candle: Not for romance, but for reverence.
  • Silence your phone: Your soul doesn’t need notifications right now.
  • Play whatever music helps you drop in: Sound frequencies, drumming, gospel, deep moody R&B, whatever makes you feel.

As You Run the Bath, You PRAY

Kneel. Yep, right there by the tub.
Put your hands on your heart or the rim of the tub and say whatever prayer you need. Out loud. From the gut, you don’t need to sound poetic. Just be real. You're not begging, you're being honest.

What to Add to the Water

This doesn’t have to be complicated. Think intention over aesthetic.

  • Sea salt or Epsom salt – for energetic detox and tension relief
  • Frankincense, rosemary, lavender oils – a few drops for calming + clearing
  • Herbs or flowers, if you feel called – or keep it simple. Water alone is powerful.
  • You – fully, emotionally, unapologetically present
  • Or The NDA Spiritual Baths

Once you’re in the water, slide in slowly and start to feel your body, really feel it. Notice the tightness in your chest, the weight in your limbs, the ache that’s been hiding under your smile. Let all of it rise. Then, let it move. Let yourself cry if you need to. Let the tears roll down without wiping them away. Weep. Scream underwater if you have to. Let your chest heave. Speak the names of the people who hurt you, say the things you’ve been too ashamed to say out loud. Grieve and allow whatever you have been holding on to. Let the water hold it all.

This is your nervous system cleansing itself. This is your body finally being told that it’s safe to release. It’s not pretty healing, it’s real, raw, sacred healing. You don’t need to force affirmations or try to feel better instantly. Just breathe. Let the salt clear your field, let your emotions be holy, let your soul come back to itself. And when the storm passes when the crying slows, and the trembling stills, just lay there. Let yourself be held by the water. Let your heart soften again.

In this video, I invite you to witness the transformative power of the Goddess Bath, a sacred ritual that has become an intimate part of my personal healing journey. Created as a heartfelt diary, I openly share the love, care, and intention that go into every moment of this spiritual practice.
